8. Are you overpaying for homeowners insurance coverage?
Most people really don't know.
And it can cost you several thousand dollars over the years, just because it's one of "those things" that most people don't take the time to carefully evaluate...and re-evaluate. There are several deductibles. $100, $250, $500.
Which one is right?
Your homeowner's insurance coverage's need should be carefully matched to the value of your home, and the amount of mortgage you have. You need to be certain you don't fall below the co-insurance clause, which requires you have coverage for a minimum of 80% of the replacement value.
You may need to add coverage to protect the value of your home.
Or, you may have too much, or the wrong kind for your situation.
The point is: you shouldn't overpay!
Believe me when I tell you that overpaying for insurance is quite common, and that thousands upon thousands of dollars get wasted by paying too much. (Give us a call if you'd like this checked for you.)
